EUROPE SUPPORTS MESTERHÁZY!
VIDEO CAMPAIGN ACROSS EUROPE

Dear Comrades!
As you may have already heard, parliamentary elections are held this April in Hungary. After eight years in governance, the Hungarian Socialist Party is facing an extremely difficult election campaign, starting officially on 15 March 2010.
The current political situation is not quite favorable for the Hungarian left: ‘Jobbik’ representing the extreme right wing has become a significant political actor. They represent racist, xenophobic, anti-semite and homophobic ideas – for which it seems that the people have a feeling. The strongest and most popular political actor – ‘FIDESZ’ – is coping with these extremists.
However the main problem for all the competing parties, but especially for the Hungarian Socialist Party is that the constituents are not willing to participate on the elections.
As we, the PES Activists have seen before – during election campaigns across Europe (in Romania, Austria, Portugal etc.) – the support and help of the Activists from all Member States of the EU can make a difference. With your help as a ‘European PES Activist’ we can show the Hungarians that Europe believes in the Socialists, in MSZP and in Mesterházy! Therefore we have decided to call upon our Comrades across the European Union to help us during this campaign.

What we would like to ask from you?
As it is not easy to travel for everybody to Hungary, we have decided to ask you the following: Please make a short supporting campaign movie which shows that Europe is really for MSZP, for Mesterházy!
For this event we will help you with the followings:

Use an FTP client (recommended client is the Total Commander –free to download)
Go to FTP Connection, and set the followings at “new connection”:
session: support.mszp.hu
Host name (PORT): support.mszp.hu
user name: mszphun
passwd: (if you write me an email to pes@activist.hu, I will send it to you)

If you connect to the site you will be able to see our “tutorial campaign movie” and our electronic campaign materials. These materials can be duplicated in numerous copies
and are free to use!

We would be very pleased if you could shoot a short (1-2 minutes long) supporting movie in your hometowns (at easily recognizable places – e.g.: if you are from Paris you could make this movie in front of the Eiffel Tower. The reason for this requirement of the scene is that it can be easily identified from whom we got the message, from which country.)
If your short film is ready, please upload it to the above mentioned FTP server!

Before the elections these materials are collected and a cut and edited version is made – in order to use it as a campaign film!
So if you would like to support the Hungarian Socialist Party, grab a camera …. aaand action!
